Best parts of Star Wars are when an alien or a robot or something makes a couple random noises and a person is very genuinely like “yes that’s it exactly thank you”

lindir:

Those were the stories that stayed with you. They meant something, even if you were too small to understand why.

don’t MAKE me turn this hero’s journey around!

Aww, is somebody still in “refusal of the call”?

#lmao how are you gonna turn around when the hero can never truly return home?

A murder mystery where every character believes themselves to be responsible for the death, and tries their best to cover it up.

The real kicker is that the guy died from natural causes.

Bilbo: wait I get it now. The dragon is a metaphor for greed and power. We need to ‘defeat’ it by being humble when we get the treasure.

Thorin: Bilbo, for the last time, it’s a real dragon and it has my gold

Greyjoy family be like:

  • Priest who uses zealotry to deal with his abuse.
  • Child hostage with like 5 identities, all of which are traumatized.
  • Terrible warlord who doesnt understand being a warlord is making him feel terrible.
  • Young women who despite growing up in a reaver society that sees women as property is somehow the least fucked up.
  • The worst person you’ve ever met.

insomniac-arrest:

it’s interesting because the sexlessness in a franchise like lotr feels a lot different than the sexlessness in the mcu, the mcu feels sterile and weirdly plastic since everyone is hot but no one is actually attracted to each other, but lotr feels like … normal. There’s no sense something is missing.

is it because lotr still has tenderness as a form of prominent intimacy?? hmm
